Interspace

noun: /ˈin(t)ərˌspās/: the space between obects.

I started writing Interspace to describe the space between financial services ecosystems, to describe and explain the financial technology that underpins how we do business and how we empower financial access. I try to simplify the complex and share honest opinions about what we’re doing right and where we can improve the fintech landscape. And I care deeply about understanding core unit economics and building sustainable business models so we can provide critical financial functionality in resilient ways.

Here are some of my top posts:

About Me

Hey - I'm Samir. I drive business impact in fintech.

Today, I’m building Interspace Ventures. Most recently, I led Global Strategic Partnerships Finance for the Financial Partnerships team at Block, where we expanded financial access for Cash App users, Square sellers, Tidal artists & Proto miners.

Prior to that, I led Strategic Finance at Hudson River Trading, an algorithmic market maker, and drove financial partnerships at Unit, which embeds financial features into products. Before that, I built and led the Strategic Finance function at Chime. Earlier, I was the first finance hire at Sift. I got my start in investment banking in the Financial Institutions Group at JP Morgan covering market structure and asset management.

Outside of work, I write over-engineered takes on stratfin, fintech and AI on Twitter and on Interspace. I also create apps and concepts by coding at the speed of thought using Replit.
